I don't feel like beating around the bush with you so I'll lay this out clearly.

Stop stirring the pot or you're gone. That also means don't tell me to chill out, don't explain your actions, don't call me your "brah." I don't care to hear it at this point.

Am I clear?

a riding buddy had one for a year. He went all winter season without a full re-build. As long as you lube the rails and keep it clean it is fine. He gave it a re-build probably once every 4 months but could have left it longer. I think that having to re-build a bike every 4 months is too much, but when you ride the bike you see why.

timlake wrote
Oct 27, 2009 at 9:22
You really don't have to re-build it that often.

Okay cool thanks for the info I'm going to try them because I'm having trouble cornering my judge because of how high the bottom bracket is. Were you up at whistler last week i saw a guy getting on the lift with a very similar looking judge with flat bars to yours.

Haha,
Yeah it looks really good.
A LOT of work for bikes like that devinci, or your trek. Its so hard to get paint out of the little CNC portions, but the final product is awesome.

Aluminum will oxidize after you strip it, but not badly. I didnt, but some people do. Its preference. If you add new decals you can clear over them to make it a solid paint job.

spoiledgoods wrote
Oct 21, 2008 at 13:52
Yeah,
its easy. You remove anything that could get buggered up by hardcore stripper (IE shocks, bushings, rubber items) then tape off all of the bearings. Once thats done, go buy some Tal-Strip2 ( aircraft paint remover), spray it on, wait 20 minutes or so, and it should just flake off.
DONT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN THO! it will burn like a mofo.

spoiledgoods wrote
Oct 21, 2008 at 13:35
It is British Racing Green, but soon to be rawd.
You can shave about a half a pound by removing the paint from your bike.
